Started with an unexpected leap in 2010
Some small business owners may carefully look before they leap; others leap first. So Beans Cafe Coffeehouse started with an unexpected leap. In 2010, Celia Moore jumped from corporate accounting into a coffee shop in this wonderful neighborhood, the Energy Corridor. Armed without any experience in coffeee or in small business, it took her whole family to turn the business into a success.
Beans Cafe Coffeehouse Company Motto
Celia describes Beans Cafe Coffeehouse’s opening as “Our Grand Opening on May 10, 2010 was decidely not grand at all. Still in a depressed economy and a reputational hole to climb out of, we embraced motto ” You can find yourself here” by filing our shop with maps and globes.
They always know your name at Beans Coffeehouse
I especially enjoy the staff at Beans Cafe Coffeehouse they always have wonderful and friendly attitudes. You never walk in with out hearing a warm greeting and seeing smiling faces. They take the time to call everyone by their first names. I always feel like I’m walking into the “Cheers” set where everybody knows your name. The atmosphere in Beans Coffeehouse is very relaxed and enjoyable. At this coffee house you feel like your in your own living room or on your back porch from the moment you walk into the door.
Quotes from Celia
” I am very, very proud to be part of the Speciality Coffee Industry. But let me say “specialty coffee” does not mean extra pricey… it is indeed special in every way. It requires a commitment to sustain each person whose work brings coffee from a seed to your cup. It is a deliberate and true trickle down economics that recognizes that all this great coffee goes away when farmers, far away, can not continue to farm. This knowledge, and participation in this industry, makes every cup of Beans Cafe coffeehouse coffee a marlelous inspiration to me.”
“We have a lot of great coffee shops in Houston, but all the talent that precedes the coffee you drink is incredible. We have a plethora of wonderful roasters, talented baristas, and intrepid shop owners who share their talents and knowledge. Houston may not have farms but its not hard to find a farmer or farmer representative from any coffee growing region. I believe Houston is the best place to own a coffee shop because you can be part of every step of the coffee industry from green bean to brewed coffee.”
