Village West Yard of the Month
Congratulations to May’s Village West Yard of the Month winners at 11502 Piping Rock. They have created a cool oasis with a variety of shade tolerant plants.
Plant Types Used in the Yard of the Month
They’ve included bloomers that span the seasons. Starting with camellias in January, followed by azaleas in March, then agapanthus, gardenias, iris and ruellia. Red sisters’ fuchsia and burgundy leaves along with loropetalum (Chinese fringe flower) are color mainstays throughout the year.
Aztec Grass and Oak Trees
Variegated Aztec grass rounds out plant selection in the front and side yards. Additionally, the oak trees provide a beautiful frame for the home. Congratulations for successfully tackling dual landscape challenges – blooming plants for shade and landscaping a corner lot!
